Whether they drop out from boredom with multiculture studies, or female studies, or other courses that they can’t use in life, they’re dropping out in unprecedented numbers.
According to progressive Republican Colin Powell, on average, 1/3 dropout of big city high schools. In Baltimore 60% drop out ! This was unheard of in the 60s, and comes with more involvement of politically correct/ government intervention in education.
With new blood in Washington coming in 2010, should we demand an overhaul of the CHANGES made in the 70s to the traditional education of our kids so they learn what they need in life, and not to serve one party or the other ?
Like most things with government involvement, LESS IS BETTER. Use taxpayer money to build the schools and supply them, but get the unions out so teachers can teach what’s best for the STUDENTS.

My son wants a new website to play games. Currently, he uses pbskids.org, uptoten.com, and starfall.com.
Parents, do you know any other sites? He likes "learning" sites where he can practice the alphabet and read. But he also likes sites where he can just play fun games.

I’m going to be leading the Game activities at a summer camp and I need some outdoor games that kids ages 5-10 will play. I don’t want to do a game that requires equipment and is not dangerous like football or soccer and is easy to learn but a game that usually lets kids run around a lot. Examples like tag, capture the flag, sharks and minions and other outdoor games like that.

My soon-to-be 10 yr old son is obsessed with Phineas and Ferb. Does anyone have a clue of how to make this the theme for his birthday party. I’ve searched everywhere online, but there is no party supplies for them. I thought the kids could maybe build something, but I have no idea what. PLEASE HELP!!!
OMG….you guys are soo smart
We already have the Phineas and Ferb cd (he got that for Christmas). The google site has great stuff….and the idea of rockets or science experiments is soo cool. It’s gonna be hard to pick the best answer. Thx so much for all the wonderful ideas.

I have recently had to pull my kids (ages 2 and 6) out of daycare due to finances. (And change my schedule) Well my 6 year old will be starting school soon… I’m worried about my 2 year old not staying entertained and learning. Any ideas of what sort of games and activities (learning games and such) I can do with both of my children (until my oldest starts school again) places to go in the mornings (in washington state) Thanks!

I know I have asked similar questions before as I have this idea and would really like to go through with it. But need some opinions again.
I know you probably all have seen "Birthday in a Box" or "Party Express"
I wanted to start my own business selling party packages but with more to it then the normal paper goods.
I wanted to do themes such as Fairy, Princess or Tea Party
I would include (Party for 8 would be standard with optional add on)
-Cups
-Plates
-Napkins
-Forks/Spoons
-Table Cover
-Balloons
-Streamers
-Candels
-Theme Dress up Items (Wings, Tiaras, Necklaces, Boas (Choice of a Few)
-Themed Favors
-Craft
-Game
-Also Includes a suggestion booklet
Would you use something like this? If yes why if no why? How much would you pay for something like this? How much would you pay for shipping on something like this or should I include it in the overall price? Any other suggestions?
I found something similar but didn’t include everything I would but included other items on birthday in a box and they wanted 2.99 and shipping would be about .00 for ground shipping.
Here the Link to it

I know there are some parents out there that love to shop around and pick thing out for their kids parties themselves, but I also think there are parents that want a quick easy way to have a great party without much effort but for a good price.
So please let me know what you think.
Thanks for the advice so far as for the pricing I would like to set it lower or around 0 but will need to price everything out and make a profit
Anyone else want to comment?

I’m 24 years old and i’m a stay at home wife. My husband is in the military and i don’t have kids, dogs, or anything at home to keep me company so this new babysitting job of mine is gonna be extremely exciting for me. (i have fish, they don’t count). In a month or so i’ll be watching a 2 and 3 year old for someone else in the military and they are bringing them, toys and food over to my house. I’m going to be childproofing my house and buying stuff to make them feel more comfortable here (like a small cheap mattress for nap times, and some storage stuff for toys) while at the same time taking classes and getting certified to watch someone else’s kids in the month i have before i start.
I’m unsure how much darecares are around here, but seeing as the military life is FULL of kids i can imagine daycare prices are affordable and i want to be affordable too. I’m somewhat of a door mat so the more advise i get about something…the more sure i am about what to charge or do. :3 So some advise would be nice! I already have lots of kids movies, disney movies, some learning games, and kids games because i’m still a fanatic of dolls and cartoons

Why do they do it? I know a lot of kids whose parents are both home when the kids are getting trashed and are okay with it. They just go to their rooms and don’t really interfere with it. Some of these parents even supply the alcohol for all of them. And the thing is I know some of these parents and they are nice hard working people. I guess there’s more than meets the eye? Do you think these are irresponsible parents, and if you are a parent, do you let your kids do this, and if you are a kid do your parents allow this?
