Description
It’s 2 toys in 1! As a sturdy, stable walker, the Step Start Walk ’n Ride toy helps babies learn to stand, take their first steps, and walk. As the grow older, it easily converts to a first ride-on toy! It has a locking mechanism that only parents can activate, so children can’t change modes by themselves. Kids can explore the hands-on activities in both the walker and ride-on modes to see fascinating sights, hear silly sounds and touch interesting textures. Adult assembly requiredWhen little wobblers are bored with walls and sofa edges, and there’s no one to offer a hand, they can two-foot it safely across that open ocean of living-room floor with the help of the Step Start walker. This dual-purpose toy acts as stable support as they learn to walk, then lets them roll along when they want to ride. Once they are secure on their legs, the walker converts easily to a first ride-on toy. (Only adults can operate the wheel-lock mechanism.) A flexible antenna, spinning drum, clicking gear, and other sight-touch-sound features provide sit-down play fun. Assembly requires a Phillips screwdriver. –Ava NatovThe Playskool Step Start Walk ’n Ride is a great stabilizer for your baby’s first big moments of standing, stepping, and learning to walk. And once your infant/toddler has learned to walk, this versatile walking toy converts itself into a ride-on toy, helping your child learn to ride. Designed for children ages nine months to three-years old, the Step Start Walk ’n Ride also includes several hands-on activities with neat textures, sounds, and bright colors for plenty of sensorial fun. Step Start Walk ’n Ride Ages: 9 months and up Requires: Phillips screwdriver Adult assembly What We Think Fun factor: Durability: Ease of assembly: Educational factor: The Good: 2-in-1 toy that helps your infant develop walking and balancing skills. The Challenging: Wheels are not designed for extensive outdoor use. In a Nutshell: A versatile walker/ride-on toy complete with fun, sensorial gadgets. Push It, Ride It, Turn It, Spin It The Step Start Walk ’n Ride is designed to help your child with many activities, including standing, walking, and riding. The Walk ’n Ride also gives your child plenty of sit-down play, with sight-touch-sound features such as the gear shifter, lifting hood, spinning drum, and clicking dial. The walker/rider is also outfitted with bright, fun colors and friendly, smiling characters that are sure to please your infant or toddler while using. For parents, one of the best functions on this toy is its locking mechanism that changes the toy’s mode from a walker to a ride-on toy. The lock cannot be undone by the child, and there is a distinct click that sounds when the lock is set in place. While your child is using the walker/rider, be sure to keep them away from sloped driveways and hills. Though the wheels are made out of very thick plastic, they are designed for the slower movements of a young child on a level, steady surface. A Great Walker and Rider for Beginners This walker/rider is excellent for its versatility of options for your waddler’s different stages of development. And while your child is learning important stability skills, he or she can also play with and look at the fun sensorial gadgets that are attached from top to bottom in bright, fluorescent colors. The fact that the Step Start Walk ’n Ride is two toys in one makes it an economical choice and prolongs the amount of time your child will still be excited to use it and benefit from its activities. What’s in the Box Body, four wheels, front handle, rear handle, handle retainer, domed lid, dial, roller, spinner (two pieces), antenna, gear shift, four plain #6 screws, and one #6 screw with attached washer. My baby received this toy as a gift, even though it’s a good looking toy, I am concern about my baby’s safety, He doesn’t walk yet, so I used it in the sitting mode, today my baby was riding it and he tried to reach the front toys, in a flash the car roll over itself getting upside down, my baby’s forehead went straight to the floor, thanks God our floor is carpeted and he was far away from furniture. If it wasn’t for the carpet my son would have a big bump on his head. I was happy with this toy before this happened but I am not let my baby to play with it anymore.

I found this toy in-store at my local Target for $19.99. As any self-respecting comparison shopper would do, I decided to check online to see if it was available cheaper anywhere else. I was shocked to find it on Amazon for MORE THAN TWICE THE PRICE of the exact same toy in Target. I cannot believe that a person could actually live with herself after completely ripping off parents of young children. I am utterly appalled that Amazon partners with this seller.

While I have no real problems with the toy itself other then the fact its made in China (which is why I would NEVER have bought it on my own) we received this as a gift that my in-laws purchased at a charity event (it was not purchased here at Amazon). When we went to assemble the toy a couple of pieces were missing, the front handle & the decals for the “spinner”. I went online & found parts were readilly available through Hasbro (they make Playskool toys). I ordered the parts & they came in a few weeks then the “fun” began – the dolts shipped me the wrong decal sheet which I figured could be easily remedied with a single call yet here we are several months later & half dozen phone calls to their customer NO service dept. Every time I call I get a new excuse (lie?) as to why the replacement hasnt even been shipped yet, you would think this would be a simple fix NOT! I think my wife has the reason we havent gotten the decals pinned down – they probably have to come from China! Anyway I know it seems petty but when it comes time to give the toy to a needy child or charity (which we do with all of the baby items we no longer use) it would be really nice to give it to them 100% complete.

After opening, my baby played with it only once or twice, I had to return it after a few weeks.
