I am throwing a surprise party for my husband and I prefer that the adults leave their kids at home. I dont want to offend anyone, So how do I clearly word it on the invitation but don’t hurt anyones feelings considering a lot of the invited have kids?

I having a birthday party for my daughter that going be 5 on the invitation on the for blank always put the who are invite is that wright she want to invite a few kids from her class room.

My new (Jewish) wife and I have two kids each. Mine are a 15 and 12. Hers 13 and 1. They receive many invitations to Bar/Bat mitzvahs and several have come addressed as Mr and Mrs Jones, Cindy and Robbie Smith (my wifes children).
Should the invitation include my children?
Should I attend and leave my children at home?
Thats correct, my children and I are not Jewish. I have suggested to my wife that I wouldn't go and she feels that wouldn't be fair to her.

In this scenario, the invitation is addressed to you and your spouse. You are the only ones named on the envelope.

Even if it is to a cocktail party, do you still assume your kids are welcome?
Note: I'm not asking because I don't know. I'm asking b/c I have a lot of cocktail and dinner parties. I'm always surprised by the number of people who DON'T know and show up with their kids!

My daughter is turning two, and we're having her party at Chuck E. Cheese's and paying .99 plus tax per child. I am inviting all of the kids in her preschool class where I work (11 kids total) plus some friends and family. The problem is that many of these kids have siblings, and while I don't mind them coming (the more the merrier!), I don't want to pay for all of them. Is there a nice way to say this on the invitation? Should I assume that people would expect me to pay for the extra kids? We are really stretching our budget as it is, and an extra 4 or 5 kids might really mess us up…

I want to hold a dinner party for about 20 adults at my home. I have 2 young children myself but for a change and a stress free night want to have an adults only dinner party. I have no problem telling my friends to get a babysitter and they are fine with that, but I am inviting a few of my students, who are from mixed cultures. How do I word the invitation so they know they can't bring their kids but without making it sound impolite. (I really do not want any kids to come!).
