Shared (kids) birthday party…. Ideas needed?

January 19, 2010

What is a good birthday party theme for a 2 year old that would go along w/ this: http://www.birthdayexpress.com/Bindi-the-Jungle-Girl-Party-Supplies/42144/PartyKitDetail.aspx

Jungle animals? Safari theme? Something else??? Ideas???

2 y/o and 5 y/o siblings w/ a birthday 11 days apart, sharing a birthday party (who’s theme doesn’t match the indoor pool setting but oh well)…. Any ideas??? The Bindi theme is a must for the 5 y/o but not ideal for the 2 y/o so I’m looking for something that will go along w/ the Bindi theme. Thanks!!!

Or…. is this just totally not fair to the 2 y/o and I should do the Bindi theme at home on the 5 y/o birthday?
I guess I was just picturing the 2 y/o looking at the pictures from the party when he’s 15 and saying, "you gave me a Bindi the Jungle Girl theme???". LOL!
Coco… I do plan on doing that in the future.

Anyone have some fun and unique ideas for my son’s 2nd Birthday Party?

December 13, 2009

We have a 4 year old and our son is about to turn 2. We have done ponies, bounce house, Spongbob came, and I am out of ideas for this one.

Last year we did a "Water" themed party with a cake that had Spongbob splashing into the cake, waterballons, waterguns, and a cool blow up pool that had differnant sections (a plam tree, a slide, a ring toss, ect…it was at Walmart….didnt last long though)

There will be about 10 kids here aged 0-6 and I want something FUN to do! we will obviously have cake, presants, some type of food and snacks, and I was thinking either musical chairs/pin the tale on the donkey/pinata as a "Game" themed party with small rpizes for the games.

At Target they have for an Animal-ballon making kit for the kids to do…I guess they decorate them and it comes with the helium to blow them up for each kid to have one. My son is a little young for it, he might not sit still, but I think it would be cute, he is just about the youngest person at the party anyways.

Any ideas from party’s you guys have had would be GREAT! Anything cheaper then what we have been doing will also be GREAT!
(1 hour for 2 ponies 0)
(Bouncehouse for 1 day 0)
(Water Party supplies about )
(Adult size Spongbob costume )

Happy 2nd birthday to Jayden on saturday May 2nd!!!
(His real birthday-day this time!!)

I sent cookies in to my son’s school for a Halloween party and the teacher never gave them to the kids . . .?

November 8, 2009

I spent a good bit of my free time last week baking and decorating special cut-out cookies and fudge for my son’s school party (and they were cute if I do say so! -I always enjoyed getting stuff like that when I was a child) and I put them in treat bags with candy and tied them up with ribbons and sent them in -the problem is: the teacher never gave them to the kids! She also sent a request for party supplies home earlier and I sent in some beautifully printed paper plates, but I noticed that the kids were eating from white styrofoam plates at the party!!! I previously sent in art supplies that were requested also that were apparently never used. Since I put so much time into making the cookies, I am pretty upset about the cookies not being given to the kids, especially since I told my son that he would have to wait to get one of the spiderweb cookies that I made until he got his bag at the party (since the recipe only made "just" enough) -and he never got that cookie that he was waiting all week for. How should I handle this? It is working on my nerves. I left the teacher a message asking why the cookies were not given to the children and she has not called me back. I never did anything to her. I don’t understand why a teacher would do this. They also ask for .50 a day for milk for the kids (it’s preschool), yet the parents also send in a snack and drink each day when it is show and tell day for their child (every day it is show and tell for someone). I am beginning to think the teachers take the stuff home to use for themselves.
Regarding them being homemade, that can’t be it, since my son brought home a homemade brownie in his bag that another parent apparently made. This has me feeling horrible. I feel like I don’t want to send anything else in to school at all, but that could hurt my son. I don’t know what to do.
Well I do kind of feel like this was personal because they did ask for treats to be sent in, and like I said, there was a homemade-looking brownie sent home with the kids. I actually sent a note in the day before alerting the teacher that I would be sending in the cookies, etc. so that she would even know to be on the lookout for them and that’s another reason I am so at a loss. I don’t understand. I left a mssg on her cell phone and still no reply. I could call again on Monday -I’m just not sure what I should say or if I should even call again or just ignore future requests to send stuff in, or send in a letter. I am so stressed out about this that it is completely ruining my weekend. It probably shouldn’t be but it is and I don’t know what to do. Thank you all for your advice.

Napkin Pirates: Is anyone aware of a good place online to buy napkin pirates or pirate napkins?

October 24, 2009

Napkin Pirates: My kid is having a pirate themed birthday party and we are looking for pirate themed party supplies, in particular, pirate napkins. I have search a couple places online, but wanted to get others’ opinions of the best place to find these items. Thanks for your help. It will certainly keep our little napkin pirates clean and that is half the battle.

Does anyone know of a party supply store/warehouse w/ cheap discount prices?

October 18, 2009

We are throwing my son’s first birthday in 2 weeks. I’m trying to find a good party supply store that will sell alot but at cheap prices. I already tried stores like party city and alin’s party supplies but they seem to have enough for like 20 people in one package at a very high price. But I have about 200 (kids and adults) coming and I need to know if there’s other options. Oh and also its a sponge bob theme. So anyone….please…..oh especially like a store that sells a wide variety of sponge bob party supplies will REALLY REALLY help as well……we can’t shop over the internet so if anyone can refer such a place….we would sincerely appreciate it…..oh and were in the Los Angeles County area (south bay/harbor area)…..thankz to all

Play beetle game like never before at school or kids parties

August 24, 2009

The beetle game is one of drawing or coloring the parts of a beetle. With the giant beetle game dice with the six parts of the beetle; body, head, eyes, legs, and antenna the game of beetle has never been easier or more fun. Using the downloadable template drawing or coloring the beetle has never been easier. Beetle is a great party game for young children.

Tell me about your kid’s SpongeBob-themed birthday party!?

August 22, 2009

Give me some creative ideas for a SpongeBob-themed birthday party. My little guy will be turning 3 soon and he LOVES SpongeBob. One idea I had was to make Plankton cakes by frosting Twinkies green and adding an eye and antennae and stuff. I was also going to get some of those Krabby Patty candies to put in goodie bags. Anything that’s NOT junk food that I could do? What kinds of party supplies are available that don’t cost an arm and a leg?

For my son’s 1st birthday coming up we are planning to throw him a carnival themed birthday party. The kids there will be ranging in ages 1-5/6, and I was wondering if anyone had any unique ideas.

I’m mostly trying to be creative with the games/activities, and the decorations. Any suggestions. ??

[any money saving ideas would be greatly appreciated. Lol.]

Also, what are the best sites to order inexpensive party supplies online. ?? [favors, decorations, etc...]
