what are some easily learned card games for kids 4 and over but less than 10?

we’ve tried GO BOOM,GO FISH,and OLD MAID but they are getting old fast,I need a game that I can teach him that does not require him to hold too many cards in his hand.THANX

    War would be a good one for him…it lasts a while but he doesn’t have to hold on to his cards.
    Slap jack would be interesting and probably fun for a younger child
    Crazy eights isn’t too hard to learn either.

    Try WAR, or if the kids can ‘count to 12, you could get a set of UNO cards, or teach them to play ‘Spite and Mailce’ (sorry, there are cards that are MADE FOR this game that have a different name, but I can’t remember it) … the ‘rules’ are in most ‘books of card games’ … or you could also try some ‘board games’ that are age appropriate, like Jr. Scrabble …

    Try Cribbage. There’s only 4-6 cards in your hand, it’s easy to learn, and helps with math. You can buy a set at Walmart and places like that.
