What do you think about young kids playing violent computer games?
i mean i know my friends brother who is 7 – and my cousin who is 8 actually – plays v violent computer games – age rated 15, some even 18 rated – but alot of people dont have a problem with it as its not real at the end of the day jsut cartoon games..but some people do…whats your views?
i dont think it makes him bad in anyway-hes a lovely kid…but i was jsut thinking about it…
Well, its really hard to give a general answer to that question. It mostly depends on the kid and how prone he/she is to such influence.
They just have to know to differentiate between the reality and the virtual zone. So if the kid is lovely, like in the case of your cousin, no worries – he’s safe. But if you see that their behavior has changed, or turned violent, then its time to draw the line.
Games with strong language and other inappropriate content, however, should be thrown out the window. Kids’ language is easily influenced by continuous exposure.
Playing UT or Counter Strike never really made me wanna kill anyone – the fun was always inside the game
Honestly I think alot of kids are descensitized by things they see at an early age…..what will he let his children do in the future? Everyone gives a little more with their children than their parents did with them….I honestly think all of these little compromises are what's making teenagers so screwed up now days….
atleast they are not acting the crimes.
i think violent video games are a good way for children to let out their anger.
well if hes a lovely kid no worries:)
my cousin is 6 now, and has been playing ps2 games for about 2 years hes really clever at it and he knows what hes doing, but its made him violent too, hes obsessed with people getting hurt and he hurts people for no reason and doesnt know hes doing it really, in my opinion its bad at a young age because it changes them, maybe its just boyish attitude? dont know
i think its Pretty good a played like Grand thief auto game when i was like 8 i never killed anyone. its ok to let them play as long as if they no its wrong
who cares it lets out rage a nicer way than with real people
As long as he knows the difference between video games and real life, I don’t see the problem. If he starts to confuse the two, or thinks it’s ok to act out things from violent video games, bye bye video games.
