the best birthday party i’ve been to was a manicure/peticure party where ppl get their nails or toes done. or you could go bowling then have a sleepover afterwards. or have a scavenger hunt at the mall where ppl would have to find items on a list and the first team done will win.

Do a decade party. Something fun like the 60’s or 80’s. Do funky clothes and hair and watch old corny movies. Play music from that age and make it fun!! Afros or like platform shoes!!!!!!

Go camping if the weather is ok in your area. Parents of course, but kids next door. Tents, fire (supervised), marshmallows and scary stories

Rent a movie theater and play a movie and see if they let you bring in food

take a bunch of kids to a big city for a day of exploring and a great dinner at the end

A bad taste party! Go to charity shops and search for the most hideous, mix matched, clashing outfits you can find.

Apply makeup appallingly, foundation several shades too dark and stopping dramatically at the chin line! Heavy badly applied eyeshadow/mascara. Hair as nerdy as you dare – eg make greasy with baby oil!

Have a few weird food items in the buffet.

Have a few nerdy songs, such as aggadoo, touch me etc!

Please love my idea!, I did the bad taste dress up thing with my sister, it was such a laugh and we had to stop at a shop en route. tee hee!

We also went to a punk party once, that was great dress up fun also. We literally had paperclips joined from earlobes to noses etc.

For unisex parties:

Rent out the roller skating rink. Go with a 70’s theme. The skating rinks have the neon lights, disco balls and lots of old music still on file. Encourage them to come in costume.

Hay ride, horsehoes, pumpkin spitting contest, big campfire.

Halloween themed party. They could wear their costumess, have a pumpkin carving contest, get a huge tent (rent from party supply) and set up a haunted maize, bob for apples, have Halloween themed food and drinks, scary music. Fun, Fun, Fun.

Girls Only:

Maybe you could contact a Mary Kay consultant and ask her to come to your home for a "spa" evening. Facials, pedicures, manicures. You’ll have to pay, of course, but it is loads of fun and a lot easier than taking girls to the spa.

Rent a couple of rooms at a local hotel. Have the girls dropped off at the hotel. (have plenty of snacks/drinks in the rooms for the girls to snack on). Rent a limo to come and pick you all up and take you to the mall, to the movie, for pedicures, out to eat, or whateverand then back to the hotel. Then hang out at the hotel, swim, order room service for breakfast and have the girls picked up at the hotel the next day.

I had a masqerade ball for my sweet 16. It was amazing. I based it on The Phantom of the Opera. Everyone dressed in ball gowns and tuxes. I loved it! That would also be great for a birthday near halloween. You can get almost everything at a party store or a rental place
